Can you watch Super Bowl 2012 online?
Super Bowl Weekend is right around the corner. Get ready to break out the BBQ Grill invite all your friends over, contingent upon them bringing the beer, and have a barbeque flavor-filled Sunday watching the New England Patriots and New York Giants battle it out.

Before continuing with your plans you should probably ask yourself if you are prepared in the event of a tragedy. You know, like your TV spontaneously explodes or even something simple like the cable going out. What are you going to do with all your guests who already stuffed their face and are now contemplating leaving? Well, if you have a large computer monitor or even a decent sized laptop this tragedy can be averted. For, the first time Super Bowl 46 is going to be streamed live from NBCsports.com!
I know, it may be kind of lame having a bunch of dudes surrounding a laptop and shouting profanity, but on the plus side, there is one reason you may opt to watch the game online. Because… you will be able to manually change the cameras and camera angles! And after all you still get to watch the game. You can view more about streaming the game online at gigaom.com.
In the past users had to go to illegal sites to stream theĀ game live, but this year the government decided to step in. Federal officials have seized over 300 domain names which had streamed live sports in the past. This is the largest domain seizure to date. You can view a full list of the seized domains from this PDF.
In the past, many illegal popular sites streaming live sports from their website would get tons of traffic to their website during big sporting events. They would use this traffic to sell visitors fake NFL gear and it would count as a big payday for many site owners. Due to their sites being shut down it looks as though the site owners will have to find another way to get their yearly bonus.
The government has announced they had arrested a 28 year old Michigan man, Yonjo Quiroa, and charged him with a single count of criminal copyright infringement for running 9 websites that streamed live sporting events. Additionally, upon seizing the 300+ domains the government officials said that they already seized 4.8 million dollars in fake jerseys, caps, shirts, jackets, and many other sports related clothing. You can read more about the seized domains at wired.com.
To wrap it all up, you can watch the NFL Super Bowl live for the first time. Thank You NFL! And to the Bullies of the world, in this case the government, don’t charge the guys who have run illegal live sports sites. Just shut them down. They served us well in the past, and i wouldn’t be surprised if a few government officials are guilty themselves for trying to dig up an illegal live sporting event online.

Luckily, for NFL enthusiasts everywhere the NFL has offered to serve up our live streaming Super Bowl extravaganza online for us to enjoy.
Go Giants!!!
